Leuven 2014

François Gonze ( 3D, Louvain-la-Neuve) has won the 24th edition of the Leuven Go Tournament. Gonze won all his games, a good general rehearsel for the upcoming Belgian Championship in March. Second place with 4/5 was for local player Nelis Vets (2D). Kwinten Missiaen (3D), also from Leuven took third place with 3/5. Scoring 4/5 were Steve De Clerq (Antwerp, 6k) and Steven Foulon (Leuven, 12k). There were 22 participants.

Brussels tournament announcement

The Belgian Go Federation is proud to announce that the 28th Brussels Tournament will take place at Palais du Midi, in the city center of Brussels, from 26th to 27th october 2013. Please follow this link for more details.

Leuven 2013

Thomas Connor (3D,Brussels) won the 23th Leuven Go Tournament with 4/5. After a dramatic last game, Kwinten Missiaen (Leuven,3D) finished second with 3/5, before Dominique Versyck (1D) also with 3/5. Winning 4 games out of 5 were Dieter Daems, Jeremie Dubois-Lacoste, Roel van Nyen and Leslie Perez.There were 24 participants.

World amateur go championship

Jan Ramon represented Belgium at the 30th WAGC in Kakegawa city, Japan. He managed to beat a Russian 5D in the last round and so ended with 5/8 on the 23th place (66 players). You can read his impressions here. The title was won by the Chinese player, before Korea.

The 4th European Go Oza Title Match

Jan Ramon represented Belgium for The 4th European Go Oza Title Match which was held from 31 January to 3 February in Amsterdam. He scored 2/4, beating one 5-dan.
